Restaurant owner Tom Fearnes has loved his partner Cass for as long as he can remember, but their work often keeps them apart. When he meets a striking young man named Jake on the vibrant streets of Camden Town, their heady first encounter takes an unexpected turn.

Jake Thompson can hardly believe his luck when he wakes up in Tom’s bed. Tom is gorgeous, kind, and . . . taken. Tom’s explanation of his open relationship leaves Jake cold, but Tom is too tempting, and when hard times force Jake to accept Tom’s helping hand, he finds himself between two men who’ve lost their way.

Cass Pearson is a troubled soul. He loves Tom with all he has, but some days it feels like he hasn’t much to give. Jake seems like the perfect solution. Cass risks everything to push Jake and Tom together, but Jake resists, wary, until the darkness of Cass’s past comes to call. Then Jake finds himself the last man standing, and it’s time to dig deep and shine a light for the men he’s grown to love.

BOOK REVIEW

Tom and Cass are in a relationship. But like any relationship they've gotten to the point where life gets in the way of all the lovey dovey stuff. They also have an open relationship which means they can get together with other people.

So when Tom meets Jake and they end up in bed together, it's no big deal for Tom or Cass but of course, Jake isn't amused to wake up and face Tom's boyfriend. or the thought that Tom cheated.

Tom wants more from Jake and has to work on convincing him that his relationship with Cass is genuinely open. But when Jake gets in a tight spot, he turns to Tom for help and so begins their journey.

I had to admit the first part of this story dragged for me. it took a while for the story and characters to hit their stride. But once they did, it moved along at a steady pace. We see more of Tom and Jake but Cass remained kind of an enigma for most of it. One thing about this story I loved was that it brought London to life for me, they way they hopped on the tube to Greenwich or Camden or the Southbank.

In the end this is a great and sweet story and shows that there are all kinds of relationship dynamics that could work if the people fit together. I enjoy reading about poly-relationships and I'm happy to recommend this.
